Short version: look after it, bring it back when you said you would, and tell us early if something changes. The longer version is below.
Renters must be at least 25 years old and hold a valid, unrestricted driver's licence that has been held for at least two years. International licences are accepted alongside a passport. We run a licence and insurance check before every vehicle handover, and we reserve the right to decline a rental if that check does not come back clean.
Only drivers named on the rental agreement may drive the vehicle. Adding a second driver is free, but they must be present with their licence at handover. Anyone driving under the influence, racing, off-roading, towing, or taking a vehicle to a track voids the agreement immediately and forfeits the security deposit.
A deposit is charged when you book, and it holds the dates. The balance is due at pickup, or before check in for the house. Both are charged to the card the booking was made on.
A separate refundable security deposit is held at handover against damage, fuel, cleaning, tolls and traffic violations. It is released after the return inspection, typically within five business days, less anything properly owed. The amount for each car, the boat and the house is shown on its listing.
Each vehicle includes a set number of miles per day, shown on its listing. Additional miles are billed at the per-mile rate in your rental agreement. If you know in advance that you have a long drive planned, tell us when you book and we will price it properly rather than surprise you afterwards.
Vehicles and the boat are delivered fuelled or charged and should come back the same way. If they do not, we refuel at cost plus a service fee and take it from the security deposit.
Cancel more than 14 days before the start and the deposit is refunded in full. Between 14 and 7 days, half of the deposit is refunded. Inside 7 days, the deposit is not refundable, though we will always try to move you to another date rather than keep your money for nothing.
Date changes are free where the calendar allows it. Shortening a booking after it has started does not generate a refund for unused days.
If we cannot deliver what you booked — mechanical trouble, damage from a previous rental, anything on our side — we will offer a comparable replacement or refund you in full, including the deposit.
Every rental carries liability coverage that meets or exceeds state minimums. You are responsible for damage to the vehicle, boat or property during your rental, up to the deductible stated in your agreement, whether or not it was your fault.
We photograph and document every vehicle before and after each rental, and we share those photos with you. Report any incident, however minor, before you return the keys. Insurance claims filed late are far harder to resolve, and an unreported incident found at inspection is treated as a deposit deduction.
Tickets, tolls and citations issued during your rental are yours, along with an administrative fee for each one we have to process on your behalf.
Charters run with a licensed captain aboard. The boat is not offered bareboat, and the captain has final authority on routing, passenger conduct, swimming and when to return to the dock. That is not a formality — it is how everyone gets home.
Maximum passenger counts are set by the vessel's certification and cannot be exceeded for any reason. Children count as passengers. Life jackets are aboard for every guest and are worn by children under 13 at all times on deck.
If the captain cancels for weather, sea state or a mechanical issue, you may reschedule to any open date or take a full refund, including the deposit. If you cancel for weather that the captain considers workable, the standard cancellation policy applies.
Glass bottles, red wine, and shoes with dark soles stay ashore. Fishing, diving and watersports equipment is welcome; tell us in advance so it is aboard and rigged.
Check in and check out times are shown on the listing. Early arrival and late departure are usually possible when the calendar allows, and are worth asking about.
The maximum number of guests is the number the house sleeps, and it includes children and day visitors. Parties, events and commercial photography are not permitted without written approval in advance.
The house is non-smoking throughout, including on the decks. Pets are only permitted where the listing says so and where they have been agreed in advance.
Quiet hours run from 10pm to 8am out of respect for the neighbours, who were there first. Please leave the house broadly as you found it — the cleaning fee covers a turnover, not a recovery.
This page is a starting point, written to be read rather than to be impressive. Your signed rental agreement, charter paperwork and the current insurance policy are the documents that govern your booking, and where anything here differs from them, they win.
We update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one you agreed to when you booked. If anything here is unclear, or you would like a copy of the full agreement before you commit, call (555) 555-0100 or email info@eliteluxtracker.com and we will send it over.
